AMEA Regional/All State Auditions

Piccolo Etude 3
Auditioning for the AMEA High School Regional Band/Orchestra? This is the third of 3 piccolo etudes for the 2020-2021 school year.
A few tips:
*Focus on fast air through the repeated eighth notes - strive for an even articulation
*The repeated eighth notes can either be single or double tongued depending on what is easiest and sounds best for you. Try this etude both ways and record yourself so you can determine which articulation you should use
*Work with a metronome to keep your tempo consistent in line 2 as you transition from triple to duple rhythms
*Focus on the dynamics, especially the fun swells in the second line
*Try not to overthink the 16th notes in line 3, keep them light and playful and be sure to stay in time
*Make music and have fun!
