I used to use Betacam SP equipment when I worked in television, as well as Betacam SX. The thing was we had $20, 000 lenses on them which I can't afford. LOL!

STAY AWESOME! :)

We usually shot news footage in the field with either Betacam SX or DigiBeta.

I'm amazed how many animation compilations there are out there. Did People really watch these more than once? Even at the time that the Graphics of The Lawnmover Man were state of the art, people must have been getting tired of these discs very fast.

Yeah We still have a lot of that old stuff more the sister stations DVC Pro gear. I liked shooting on DVC pro but editing was a nightmare!

Hope you recover soon! Lots of great finds. How many LD's do you have now?

Laser rot, one of my most hated things! I bought my first LD player when I was 21 in 1998 for anime discs, I was a little late to the party. I started up again in Aug 2012, buying my first LDs since 2002. Since then I have bought a few hundred anime LDs from Japan, mostly focusing on titles that had no other releases than VHS. I have a few rotted discs now, it's always so depressing when a disc finally turns up and is rotted! Worse still when it is a rare disc I paid a lot of money for!

In my experience, Pony Canyon are by far the worst. 87% of totters I have are Pony discs. I even have multiple copies of titles such as NORA and GREED which are all rotted. NORA was always dirt cheap, GREED, not so much :( I also have a few VAP and Victor titles including the "MAJORS" label they used before finally using Victor. The very worst totters I have are 2 almost unplayable copies of AMON SAGA. I have a third copy as well which is not as bad. Hopefully I will find a VHD copy of NORA, Twinkle NORA Rock Me! and GREED.

Off the topic. I really DISLIKE auto focus. All of our new young Reporter girls at the station I work for will only use Auto focus as Broadcast Field cameras all have it now. And it always UN-focus's on the SOT or Sound Bite. So the Shot is focused on the wall and not the Person. IDK what they are learning in school now but I was taught on a Sony Betacam SP....MANUAL FOCUS RING! lol Yes I did linear editing and it goes by A LOT faster then non linear Editing. heh

Man you think all that is bad. People are now here being sent out on live shots with no real operation experience and Me being a director you can imagine my reaction when i tell them to do something and nothing gets done.

"Warning. Some of these cartoons may seem offensive by today's standards but, what the hell, this is America" ^, ^ Now THAT'S freedom! Too bad the world we live in these days is filled with double standards and political correctness that makes me wanna puke. These cartoons are a child of their era. And that's the same with movies, books video games and even music. Of course, racism sucks. No question about it. But political correctness is even worse.
