I’d keep a wide variety of bills, predominantly $1, $5, $10 and $20.

I do the opposite of what that experts say now.

I agree if something happens, if all you have is $100 bills then whatever you buy it's going to cost $100. Not to mention if you have $100 then you're more likely to become a target for those who see that you have money.

I would only keep $1, $5, $10 and $20. Do you actually trust what they say. NO

100 dollar bills are used by people way above my pay grade.

It's best to keep all denominations of money and several rolls of all change as well so you can pay exact amount

1’s 5’s 10’s and 20’s mostly for me. Maybe a few 100”s just in case

In time of crisis no one has change. Interesting to say the least.

I heard in North Carolina where all the stores had no power after the hurricane, it was actually the smaller $1 bills that were in very short supply.

My emergency cash includes $1’s and $5’s and a few 10’s. All stored in a fireproof waterproof pouch.

I am very surprised by this. I just read something recently about a woman who bought something for $15.00 but Only had a twenty and they wouldn’t make change. But wouldn’t you know, someone heard the exchange and paid her Bill for her without asking for anything in return. Good verses opportunistic! One won’t make change just to make a profit and someone was charitable.

The one hundred dollar bill is what a $20 used to be.

3 weeks ago during Helene, there was no cell to call text or internet, phones useless. Stores took cash only. ATMs quickly ran out. This lasted a week here, shorter than many places. I had cash because I try to keep it. There was no gas even when electric came on becuse of internet/computer. Grocery same thing.

At my store a few times, we’d have peeps come in with $100s, buy a water or something small & get change. THEN try to buy something else small with a 2nd $100! I told them no, that the bank across the parking lot is open.

Lots of stores won't accept $100 bills!! Smaller bills are better!!

The way prices are going up, the $100 bill will be the new $20. My bank's ATM offers $20s, $50s & $100s. I always get $20s. If I lose one, it's only $20. If I lose a $100, thet's five $20s.

I also live in AK. When we vacation, I ask bank about a week in advance, for fresh crisp $ 1s 5s 10s, and 20s. It has worked well so far. Good info you give.

Honestly our government has no idea how people are suffering these days. I much feel sorry for the disabled people who don’t get the help they deserve

Yeah I think the reasoning is because it takes $100 to buy with $20 used to
