Game Grumps Animated: Get In The Chocolate Car

My first true attempt at animating a music video like this. I did my best to try and animate most of the movement to the beat, so that was a nice challenge and change of pace.

I'm in chocolate disbelief that Dan is the one hitting ARIN with the chocolate lawsuit. That chocolate accident was CLEARLY Dan's chocolate fault. Just look at the chocolate footage! You can see plain as chocolate day that Dan was adjusting his chocolate mirrors while still driving! You can even see his chocolate car drifitng over to the right chocolate lane, proving that he wasn't keeping his chocolate eyes on the chocolate road. I don't think any chocolate judge in their right chocolate mind would give this chocolate lawsuit a second chocolate thought. It's such a load of chocolate bullshit.

Dang!!! From the Sexbang “packed with peanuts and a Jew-y caramel center” jacket, to Big Kat “let’s eat every flavor Kit Kat we can find” jacket, to the bobbing of the cars to the beat, and the little movements they make, this video is absolute ❤

I love that the characters are always bobbing to the beat, even Hershey-man dad, who seems extremely confused about it lol

I keep coming back to this animation because it is so good and has so many deep cuts from the Snickers logo Sexbang and KitKat logo BigKat to the Ace Attorney bit and all the fine detailing on the renders. It is a masterpiece through and through

Wasn't expecting an animated sbassbear song, but I loved it. That's a lucky Dad.

It's often said that the greatest achievement of a puppeteer is to make someone forget their puppet is a puppet. Pretty notoriously, the Muppets register as people to absolutely everyone who has ever worked with them, to the extent of "taking a long time to figure out an audio problem before realizing it's because we pinned the mic to Gonzo's shirt instead of Dave Goelz' shirt."

I mention this because I think the bit starting at 0:47 really hits that target. The sequence of Arin's dad noticing the camera is focused solely on him, realizing the music is coming to a crescendo, and becoming very alarmed because SOMETHING is obviously about to happen but he has no idea WHAT, in the instant before both the beat and the wall drops? Fluid, expressive, and perfect execution of something goofy enough human actors would have trouble with it.

Also, I enjoy his texture. He seems a little fuzzier than Arin and Dan. Probably gives hella good hugs.

Underrated moment at 0:31 when the "Oh no, Agh" from Arin is interpreted as him being on the phone with Chocolate Insurance. I just love the medium of GG Animation so much. 🥰
