I notice the color you chose is dark. darker colors can make vinyl warp in the sun. Youn can have paint custom mixed with no black in it. Sherwin Williams also makes a vinyl safe paint- I believe it has reflective material in the paint/

Hi! Thank you for this video. I just had new vinyl windows installed and they are white and they really stick out against the color of my house so I’m going to try painting them like you did. I’m hoping this type of paint comes in like a taupe colors. My old windows were wood and were originally painted to match the siding of the house.

A good sandpaper is critical get a wet type of sandpaper it keeps the sandpaper clean it stops it from clogging up with debris from the window it just gives you a better overall foot for the paint to adhere to it’s just like sanding a car. Get 600 grit sandpaper

Someone said to get 600 grit in the comments but you are saying to use 220. Also should I be purchasing a sanding pad or just wet dry sand paper paper?
Getting ready to paint some vinyl windows before I have them installed on a new shed and I just want to get it right the 1st time.

Any feedback would be appreciated. I like how simple and straightforward your video is. Thank you for your help

Hi, Daru. Love your videos on this... I also stumbled on the Sherwin Williams product that is heat/UV rated for Vinyl (there are a couple of other color considerations I am omittin here for brevity) but I notice you mention you have moved over to snap dry also by Sherwin Williams. I am wonderin if you prefer Snap Dry attributes other than for the vinyl/heat issue, or if that is exactly why you prefer Snap Dry? thank you.

🚨This paint is Vinyl Safe and Made for Windows. It's best to use a black paint that is specifically formulated for Vinyl Windows. Spray Paint, from a can, can damage your windows causing them to warp and malfunction.
