Corporations don’t pay taxes. They pass them along to consumers.

My small business after 15 years is on the verge of closing because of Covid. My landlord already warned the rent will go up if this passes, if so my doors will close for good.

The lottery was supposed to be for schools. Instead of raising property taxes maybe Amazon and Facebook can pay their fair share to the federal government and they can help the schools. Why anyone would vote to raise taxes in California where we are already being gouged in rentals and home prices I don’t know. Humans really do vote against their own interest.

As a small business owner for over ten years, prop 15 would absolutely destroy majority of small businesses. As not being the property owner our rents/leases will nearly double, and over time will put us out of business. We would have no choice but to increase our prices of goods and services which the consumers would refuse to pay. Please vote NO on prop 15

If they raise taxes on businesses, guess what happens to the price of everything else?

Think of it this way: (Building owner (Paying prop taxes)--> Passes down increased prop tax in a form of rent adjustments per the lease Small Business leasing space from building owner pays increased "Property tax passthrough" bill (upwards to a 100k billed to the tenant )----> Small business either raises prices on goods/services or goes out of business) - If anyone here thinks that landlords don't put a property tax passthrough clause in their leases, they are mistaken - Vote NO

Vote no, this will only hurt an already dying industry... don’t punish small business and drive existing businesses away from California

California tax
So you want to raise state taxes!
In California you have to ask why Intel has not invested in California for 20 years after all they were founded in California. Why did they build another 3 billion manufacturing plant in Chandler Az.
Ask why did Ricoh electronics move their thermal paper plant from Santa Ana Ca. to Lawrenceville Ga..
Ask why Toyota moved from Ontario Ca. to Texas.
Ask why Bank of America moved from San Francisco to North Carolina .
Ask why Kimberly Clark shut down operations in California.
I can go on and on but you get the drift.
So the bottom line is keep raising taxes and businesses will find a cheaper place to do business. Middleclass jobs will disappear and one day you too will ask where is my job?

Ask why Intel why they built 3 billion dollar semi conductor plant in Chandler az. Ask ricoh electronics why they shut down their thermal paper plant in Santa ana and move to Georgia. Ask why Toyota moved to Texas. Just keep taxing and watch your job move out of state. I can go on and on but when your job moves don't ask why.

Create the most stringent lockdowns in the country ; after collapsing your own economy slap on a tax for 11 billion dollars that will affect the small businesses that have been hit hardest.

I own a small 5 acre business park in Southern California with about 70 small business that rent from us. The impact of prop 15 for us will be about $200, 000 a year and we currently gross a little over a million a year. This will be about a 20% tax increase on our gross income. We currently offer very good rates to our tenants which has allowed us to help a lot of startups and small businesses. In order to cover the cost of this proposition will be forced the raise our rents about 20% to pay for this. Small businesses are struggling as it is and this will drive more of them out of business.

I would support a proposition that closed the loopholes that large corporations use to be able to pass these low taxes on indefinitely, but this prop does not do that. It is a regressive tax that will destroy small business and raise the cost of goods on everyone across the state.

guarantee you the biggest corps will be exempt or figure out ways to offset this, and mom and pop stores will be crushed

any proposition that reads "increase funding for public school..." something is fishy. I can easily see business leaving the state.

Don't let tax-dodging billionaires scare you to vote against your own interests. VOTE YES on 15.

That's a no for me, tired of voting yes on taxes that are meant to help, or go to a good cause to only be it untrue. Where do these funds actually go? Hardly see them being used for what they are meant to. Greed drives those above, they take and take only to give nothing in return and those of us at the bottom pay the price time after time.

No on 15. Whatever happened to all the money schools got from previous propositions? All I remember hearing here from LAUSD is that "they don't have money " or are "low on funds" while those on the board were always voting to increase their salaries. We should be skeptical about giving them more taxpayer money. It does not matter if it doesn't affect average workers, but school districts in this state need to learn how to better manage their resources and funds if they want more taxpayer money.

California subsidizes old businesses because they're old. Prop 15 fixes that. I'm all aboard.

If one owner runs his property well and the other lets it go to shit, they should pay the same tax. This bill does not tax them the same thus a no. Also it exempts properties less than 3 million, which is inequality. Thus a no for racism and inequality.
