Nevertheless, it’s remarkable that she achieved so much in such a short life. Her achievements are also remarkable considering her humble beginnings.

Patsy was born as Virginia Patterson Hensley in Winchester, Virginia. The Hensley family moved around often as their financial woes were all too common. When Samuel Hensley abandoned the family, it was up to young Virginia to take up odd jobs to make ends meet.

At a young age, she discovered that she had a talent for singing country songs. She performed at honky tonks over the weekends and eventually decided to pursue music as a full-time career.

She eventually adopted the moniker “Patsy Cline” and performed in local nightclubs with popular country bands. In the 1950s, she became a household name when she began performing on popular TV shows that featured country performers. In the mid-1950s and early 1960s, she began releasing records of her music.

At a young age, she became a huge star, and it was clear that she was destined to become an icon of country music. Sadly, her life would be cut tragically short due to a plane crash.

But what’s even more chilling are the words that Patsy Cline spoke before her plane crashed. It was almost as if she predicted her impending death. The story is unsettling and is often discussed as much as her incredible talents.

Nevertheless, decades after her passing her albums still sell, and her songs are featured in major films and TV shows.

Let’s learn more about the life and career of Patsy Cline…

I knew Patsy Cline. I was a teenage girl living in Winchester, Virginia where my parents had a small motel. Everybody knew everybody in that small town. I have a memory of shopping at a small store when she walked in. This is before she had a national following. I said hi Patsy - she said hi.

I'm not a big country music fan, but Patsy was a stellar preformer. Her songs even today are classics and are played in many venues. Great distinctive voice, great voice!
Patsy, you may be gone but far, far from forgotten.

My grandfather was from Winchester and got to be friends with Patsy when she was performing in those honky tonks before she got famous. My aunt has the postcards and birthday cards Patsy would send my grandfather even after she hit the big time. She also made sure he had tickets to any of her performances he wanted to attend. She was a great and caring person.

I admire Patsy Cline for two things, her God-given talent and her gift of friendship and guidance to our beloved Loretta Lynn. Patsy gave Loretta the friendship, encouragement and confidence she was in desperate need of in order to push on and become a successful artist herself. The loss of her friend Patsy nearly killed Loretta.
I cherish Patsy's music and her gift to Loretta's success. To me they will always stand together.

I so remember Patsy's tragic plane crash death. She was gifted with such a great voice for her chosen genre of country music. Even now, nearly 60 years later, when I am outside walking around after dark and especially late night, I find myself humming her hit song, "I go out Walking After Midnight!"

She is water from the well, a pure true beauty who's heart soul and innocence can bring tears to hear her. We owe an enormous debt to Willie Nelson, thanks to him we have the best song she sang, Crazy. No female singer can compete with her. She is one of a kind, she is sancrocinct.

The woman had a bluesy edge as well and whoa, could she ever hold the note. Great voice control. Just a natural and very humble about that ! Our mother introduced us to her when she had had her fill of R&R ! Cannot listen to Patsy without vivid memories of my Mother ! Very grateful to her for that !
She died so young but left such a legacy ! That she seemed to know is very poignant. That happened with my Husband. He just knew he was not long for this life. Eager to tie things up and move on to his new life with God ! He too left quite a legacy of so much Love !
Thank you Patsy. You are a legend of the most rare kind !

She was the only female country singer who could perfectly do at least five country subgenres as well as six other main genres of music.
She is a true legend.
May God bless her noble soul.💐
