Can’t explain how hard this hits despite being so simple. Just enough variation to add something dynamic.

I'm a death metal fanatic. My wife took me to a music festival in fort Loramie Ohio and I saw Hardy live. Instant fan. He is incredible in concert and your right he can't make a bad song and what an entertainer.

Growing up, my folks expoaed me to endless great rock n roll songwriters and artists but country was NOT on anyone's playlists in my small northern MN town. Until one day in junior high a friend of mine dragged me (reluctantly) to go see a MOVIE about country music and some guy i had never heard of named George Strait. And despite being a stubborn teenager who already KNEW i wasnt going to like it, i became an instant fan. I LOVED 90s country, but it really started to feel heavily commercialized after the turn of the century. Like bubble gum pop music with "artists" who rarely wrote their own songs and just sang about simple safe country stuff like dirt roads, drinking beer, falling in love and going to church. So i kinda drifted away from country for a while. But in the last 5-7 years it feels like artists eric church, luke bryan, kasey musgraves and maren morris seemed to bring the art of songwriting back without having to conform to the typical country label image. I really hate bringing up Taylor Swift cuz shes almost her own genre of music, but if im talking about GREAT songwriters from the last 5-7 years i HAVE to include her. But ive digressed from my original point that Hardy and some of the other artists ive mentioned have really worked hard to say whatever they want and have a more unique sound and style that is their own and not force fed by the suits at the record labels. I was an INSTANT fan of REDNECKER THAN YOU from the content avout growing yp in a small town, the rock influence, the funny video etc but i wasnt so impressed that i thought WOW! This guy is gonna change the game. But i never made an effort to search for any subsequent songs or albums he put out. Until today. I dont knoq why but i was jamming out to 90s country for like 3-4 hours this evening and SOMETHING made me think of searching out Hardy and i was BLOWN AWAY by every single song was an instant hit that i could crank over and over on long road trips or all day long at work and never get bored or tired of it. There arent very many artists where EVERYTHING they do is great art and songwriting. There are only a few that i can think of off the top of my head. Green Day, PROBABLY my favorite band of all time just from their sheer volume of work spanning at leaat 3 decades. The American Idiot rock opera COMPLETELY blew my mind and was incredibly relatable to ANYONE growing up in the 90s. They could have stopped there and still already be in the hall of fame but theyve continued to churn out another 50-60 songs at least of pure thought and emotional provoking ART. More recently, twenty-one pilots have carved out their own genre as well. Im sure ill catch hell for this next one but you cant deny Kanye Wests body of work starting with just his beats for Rock a fella artists were next level and he made hit after hir after hit. Im more of a pre-kim Kanye fan even though hw still made tons of hits after gettin wit her. His huge ego USUALLY made his art suffer. And again i gotta mention taylor. MOSTLY for my daughters sake but ive been a fan ever since her debut country album and "our song" but that was a peefect example of thw label hust trying to sign a pretty young blonde girl that can actually play guitar. Id bet money that no one in xountry music could havw evwr imagined shed be bigger than Madonna, Brittany, and the Spice Girls COMBINED. Christ shes bigger than the beatles at this point. Ans just aa talented songwriter as jon and paul. And now....Hardy is my newwst addition to that list. I lovw that he carved out his own lane and sound, i love how genuine he is with his songwriring. And by that i mean not just trying to churn out 10 songs fast cuz thw label wants an album. I think hes just getting and in decades to come, he will be talkedcabout with the same gravitas as george jones jonny cash, and george strait and will continue to evolvw as an artist in the years and decades to come
