On New Year's Eve 1993, Mr.Bean, who is a grown up man living in England, has his friends over to his place. He lives in an apartment with his stuffed teddy bear named Teddy. He welcomes two of his friends inside excitedly. The friends, Rupert and Hubert are there to celebrate a special night. Trying to be a nice host, Mr.Bean gives newspaper hats to them with their initials on. Awkwardly, all three grown up men sit in chairs wearing silly hats. To brighten up the mood, Mr.Bean tries to prepare snacks and drinks.

The problem starts when Mr.Bean realizes that he does not have food and drink to serve. When he opens a can of pretzel sticks, he only finds one pretzel stick left. Cleverly, Mr.Bean opens up the kitchen window, chops down some thin branches, and places them on a plate so that they would look like pretzels. Mr.Bean took out a bottle of wine, but noticed that there wasn't anything left. So, he takes out a bottle of vinegar and takes a sip from one of the glasses, but realizes that it is overly sour. Quickly, he mixes sugar into the glasses and serves them to the guest.When Rupert and Hubert notices Mr. Bean eating sticks and drinking the vinegar, they are confused. They are not drinkable nor edible. They feel very uncomfortable sitting in a circle silently without food.

As a solution to get away from Mr. Bean’s place, when Mr. Bean returned back to the kitchen to get more snacks, Rupert and Hubert quietly tiptoed to Mr. Bean’s clock, changing the time to twelve a.m so that they can leave his house. They fake yawn. Mr. Bean states that when you are enjoying yourselves, time flies. Then, he initiates his friends to sing the New Year’s song while holding hands. He even brings his teddy bear to join the circle. As soon as the song is over,
Rupert and Hubert dash out of Mr. Bean's room as fast as lightning. The two friends end up joining the party across the hallway from Mr. Bean’s apartment room and have a blast. Later, when Mr. Bean is in bed alone, he hears the people across the room singing the New Year’s song with Rubert and Hupert and realizes that his clock is two hours ahead. Mr. Bean realizes that his friends tricked him.

This episode, part 1 of “Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean” New Year’s Eve Party, is a funny comedy. The main character, Mr. Bean is creative, not spending any money on food, drink, nor party hats, but Rupert and Hubert do not enjoy the visit at his house. This episode is hilarious and exciting because of how creative Mr. Bean is, but some viewers may not like it because the friends left and Mr. Bean was sad.
