The bride is correct.
No white PERIOD. It's just ONE day. Let the bride be the only one in white unless she says otherwise.
I've only seen narcisstic mothers, MILs, and other crazy women insist on wearing some form of white on the wedding day.

I messaged my friend a photo of my dress that was a white background with giant magenta and tan flowers all over it, with a magenta shrug over it, to ask her if it was okay - and I had backups if not. She was like, you absolutely should wear that dress! Nobody confused me for the bride or paid me any attention, just as it should be.

I think everyone at the reception knows who the bride is. And the bride and groom sit at the designated table just for them and wedding party. So a color block dress with a white top wouldn't be much of an issue in my opinion. If the person who wears a white dress other than the bride does it to cause problems I wouldn't threw wine (waste of good wine) . I would have that person escorted out and not be allow back unless they change clothing.

Out of courtesy to the bride and groom, It’s a NO-NO to white if you’re a guest to a wedding.
