Oh man... if GPU prices crash too much, then I'll have to start making videos of stores bursting at the seams with GPUs! GPUs in Superstock!

The thing about decreased demand dropping prices is that it does so by decreasing purchasing power. In the next year, we may have to contend with some difficult economic times. If you have a stable job and you have some stimulus money or savings lying around, you may be able to take advantage of cheaper prices. But if you're like a lot of people who will not fare so well, they'll be cheaper while you can't afford them, especially because we have had runaway inflation almost everywhere all year.

I remember seeing a video last year, ty that talked about the Chinese banking market being funded by home loans and the Chinese people investing in property that had yet to be built. Chinese property investors were putting their money behind properties like this and people willing to move into these new communities didn't exist. Those investments ended up being complete failures.

Lower end/mid level gpu prices have not gone down. They are still over MSRP, especially NVIDIA.
RTX 3050s are 330 euros.
Where is the gpu price crashing happening? Cause its not happening on the lower end.
Rtx 3060s are not 329 lol. All are above 400.

China's housing prices were skyrocketing for decades. Twenty years ago the only way to buy property was to pay for the whole thing before it was built. It's the game realtors played to get the most money. Real estate was the only viable investment no matter where you lived or how much money you had. Everyone who bought sight unseen still had a property worth much more than they paid, so they don't care if they can live in it or not. Once you become a home owner, you quickly go on to buy another one, and then another one.

The government had said years ago that they are slowing the housing prices but huge corporations were slow to react. Construction companies kept over leveraging and the laws left the poorest home buyers to get burned. Most owners in the big cities were unaffected since they already got theirs. The price will not come down in Chinese housing but without skyrocketing prices, a lot of corporations are going bankrupt from debt. The public opinion just wants the poor buyers to get their money back and let the banks fall. If you had a deposit, you are insured. If you had investment products, you knew the risks. There's no wider crash coming, but tech will be interesting.

People are still buying iphones and cars. Companies are still building data centers and AI. They can easily switch off producing gaming chips and still saturate the foundries as well as Nvidia profits.

I know this is not what the channel is about but I really like that you do this every once in a while. Especially this kind of view on the topic from a hardware perspective is really cool. Very appreciated!

The best thing about all this chaos is that it brings light to to all the political and economic corruption.

I was shocked to see that in our local online shopping websites, cpus coming from China are being sold below their MSRPs. Especially the ryzen ones. Impressive!

A lot of youtubers lately don't seem to realize or are willingly ignorant of the fact that GPU prices in most EU countries are not affected by global issues anymore. And issues with China or Nvidia restocking, or AiBs trying to sell their GPUs are irrelevant here. A 3080 can well be 600-650$ in the US but a 3080 10GB Zotac ultra low end model is still 900 euro here and that's the cheapest one available. An EVGA RTX 3080 10GB LHR model is selling for 1139 euros right now if you want the cheapest store, or 1541 euro if you go to other retailers here in Romania.

An RTX 3080 12GB from Asus, the TUF version, is selling for no less than 1024 euros right now, while the ROG STRIX 10GB variant is selling for no less than 1283 euro on reputable retailers' websites.

Ladies and gentlemen, for those who holded off buying those overpriced gpu's to not tolerate scalpers. Lets give ourselves a pat on the back. Now they are suffering the losses

I scored a helluva deal kind of by accident on Aliexpress 2 days ago, a Soyo B550M with a Ryzen 5 5600X for 215 USD - couldn't pass that combo up at all.
Wish I'd grabbed more of them.
