Larvik is a town and municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Larvik. Larvik er en by og kommune i landskapet Vestfold i Vestfold og Telemark fylke. Den grenser i nord mot Kongsberg og Holmestrand, i øst mot Sandefjord og Tønsberg, og i vest mot Porsgrunn, Siljan og Bamble. Kommunen ble i forbindelse med kommunereformen slått sammen med Lardal kommune 1. januar 2018.
Larvik er en kystkommune, som også omfatter store gode jordbruksarealer, samt skog og fjell. I nord-syd retning har kommunen en utstrekning på ca. 40 km. Det høyeste punktet er Vindfjell med sine 622 meter (før sammenslåingen med Lardal var høyeste punkt Vettakollene 453 moh.).
Rakkebåene og fyret Svenner er kjente landemerker i skjærgården utenfor byen. Larviksfjorden fører fra Skagerrak inn til byen.
Farrisvannet er 20,5 km langt og har en dybde på 131 meter. Topografisk er Farrisvannet en fortsettelse av Larviksfjorden. Vannet demmes opp av raet ved Farriseidet, slik at fjorden blir en innsjø. Fallet på 22 meter fra innsjøen til havet ble utnyttet til ulike typer industrivirksomhet. På yttersiden av raet kommer det fram en naturlig kilde, som stadig gir vann til produksjon av Farris på flasker. Innsjøen Farris leverer også drikkevann til store deler av tidligere Vestfold fylke.
Hallevannet er en annen større innsjø, beliggende sydvest i Larvik kommune. På grensen mot Sandefjord i vest ligger Goksjø.
En av landets største elver, Numedalslågen, med utspring på Hardangervidda, har sitt utløp i sjøen øst for byen. Nedre del av Lågendalen, tidligere Hedrum kommune, er en del av Larvik.
Botanikk
Bøkeskogen er Larviks fremste symbol, og var motivet i byens gamle kommunevåpen. I forbindelse med konmunesammenslåingen med Lardal 2018, fikk kommunen et nytt kommunevåpen med bøketre. Bøkeskogen ligger som en stor park på toppen av raet bak byen. Treslaget bøk finnes i Norge hovedsakelig bare på skagerrakkysten.
Verneområder
Fritzøeparken med Fritzøehus er vernet som landskapsvernområde. Det er flere naturreservater innen Larvik kommune.

In connection with the municipal reform, the municipality was merged with Lardal municipality on 1 January 2018.
Larvik is a coastal municipality, which also includes large good agricultural areas, as well as forests and mountains. In the north-south direction, the municipality has an extent of approx. 40 km. The highest point is Vindfjell with its 622 meters (before the merger with Lardal, the highest point was Vettakollene 453 masl).
Rakkebåene and the lighthouse Svenner are well-known landmarks in the skerries outside the city. Larviksfjorden (the Larvik fjord) leads from the Skagerrak into the city.
Farrisvannet is 20.5 km long and has a depth of 131 meters. Topographically, Farrisvannet is a continuation of Larviksfjorden. The water is dammed up by the ridge at Farriseidet, so that the fjord becomes a lake. The fall of 22 meters from the lake to the sea was used for various types of industrial activities. On the outside of the row, a natural spring emerges, which constantly provides water for the production of Farris in bottles. Lake Farris also supplies drinking water to large parts of the former Vestfold county.
Hallevannet is another larger lake, located southwest of Larvik municipality. On the border with Sandefjord in the west is Goksjø.
One of the country's largest rivers, Numedalslågen, originating on the Hardangervidda, has its outlet in the sea east of the city. The lower part of Lågendalen, formerly Hedrum municipality, is part of Larvik.
Botanical park / Forest
Bøkeskogen (The beech forest) is Larvik's foremost symbol, and was the motif in the city's old municipal coat of arms. In connection with the municipality merger with Lardal 2018, the municipality received a new municipal coat of arms with beech wood. Bøkeskogen (the beech forest) is located like a large park at the top of the ridge behind the city. The tree species of beech is found in Norway mainly only on the Skagerrak coast.
Protected areas
Fritzøeparken with Fritzøehus is protected as a landscape conservation area. There are several nature reserves within Larvik municipality.
