Anyone who reads the text would see that this assessment of the situation with Joab and Shimmei was not murder at all, but justice…under normal circumstances, they would not even have been alive at the time Solomon ascended to the throne. Joab was an insubordinate military commander and murderer who had acted with impunity, and Shimmei was basically treasonous. Nice synopsis, but thoughtful listeners will check (or already have read from) the source themselves.
