Thomas is cracking me up!!! Oh my I love this idea! I think you could brown some breakfast sausage and add it to the custard to do sweet and savory for brunch! Or I would even consider dicing up some canned peaches and mixing that in as well, or fresh blueberries. I think it is worth noting that only glaze donuts, not cake donuts would work. I love the versatility of your recipes Catherine! 🥯🥧❤

You know this first reminded me of egg custard pie, one of my favs. Then I'm reminded how insanely much my grandkids love french toast: basically the same ingredients. I'm thinking I'm gonna let the grandkids make variants of this. But all of this is so magically good. When I cook this with the children, I feel like they are awed by the beauty and simplicity of it. Just a little milk and eggs and flavoring and bread base, then magic happens! And don't be afraid to sweeten to family taste. Blessings, Catherine. Your videos are a joy.

Wow, you have outdone yourself! The pie looks delicious and it’s made with my favorite donuts. I grew up in Tampa in the 1950s and ‘60s and there was a Krispy Kream shop that sold them as they were being cooked. You could smell them cooking as you drove close to the shop.
