Warno has finally released! What do you think? There are more Army General campaigns than I was expecting, and they seem pretty decent! But will Broken Arrow be better? Aren't we lucky to be getting all of these RTS games!

Thanks for the shout out in the end <3
Great review and overview.

Fully agree that the Campaign map is cool as is, but for sure could use a couple more mechanics (ambushes, sabotage, nukes? etc.) in some shape or form.
Still for me one of the best RTS campaign experiences I had so far and the auto resolve functioning well is such a good update over the clunky SD2.
Cant wait to play more of them in Multiplayer, brings me back to the days were I played Shogun and Rome 2 Total war vs my brother in campaign. :D

If I’m being honest, I still think that red dragon had better campaigns. This was in large part due to the sheer impact that the strategic decisions could have on each tactical engagement. If you were defending a sector, you had access to all of the command zones at the start of the engagement. It forced attackers to either get creative in attacking from multiple directions, or massing an overwhelming amount of fire before going on the offense.
Another thing I liked about red Dragon was that the arrival of reinforcements and which ones were directly tied to your military successes. Control more Sectors, get more political points, get the best units deployed where you want them at the time you need them.
You even had to juggle things like flight distance for your air support.
I also liked how each campaign offered a different scenario. The campaigns in Warno are all the same Warsaw Pact invasion of Germany in 1989.

This, as well as your previous review, is genuinely amazing at giving people information and perspective. I appreciate it

In my opinion the best RTS in recent years!

For me this is a "is it worth it to redownload?" because I've already shilled out for early access lol

Good to see that they seemed to expand on the strategic layer on campaigns. I kinda loved the campaigns and badly wish they were fleshed out more in wargame. The idea that you had to work with whatever battlegroups you had nearby to win fights, or that battles could end up as phyrric victories where you technically routed your opponent but the battle can leave your forces depleted and vulnerable to a counteroffensive. Love the idea of of an rts where your assets aren't just replaceable pawns that stream out of a barracks, and where the difference between a total victory and a minor victory matters.

At first I hated SD2 and Warno, 100 percent liked wgrd. Then I started liking SD2 the most. Who knows how I will feel about Warno. I wish devs would make a wargame WW2, it could be really interesting.

Appreciated the TLDR version so you get the thumbs up and a comment.

Nice video, i hope for some multiplayer / deck showcases in the future. WarNo feels like a re-release of wargame airland, but setup to be carved up into a microservice game. I dont feel any innovation from this game as of right now but i am hopeful that the game reaches that RedDragon level of epicness,
BTW how do you cap the flags? at 7:20 is says 10 to owner 1 per turn yet your other flags generate nothing??

I'm guessing warno is closer to the wargame series. I never could get into them. I did enjoy the steel division games though.

I do hope WARNO goes into the modern day with more modern equipment, storyline wise this can easily be done with a ceasefire until 10 or 20 years later it all kicks off again.
I know Broken Arrow is modern day but it just feels limited so far with only 2 factions.

Anyone if this is worth for the multiplayer alone or should I just wait for Broken Arrow because I liked the alpha test of it

If you hate it all, just take a listen to the score

Broken Arrow's open beta gameplay seem'd more accessible (casual?) than current warno

Never been a fan of these dynamic campaigns. If I end up buying Warno it'd be for the multiplayer and I'll stick with Regiments for singleplayer.

I wish they’d release and optimise this for Mac 😭

Well, I can see from the video that it won't be for me. I'm not a fan of this XCOM styled overview map.

Good game. Just feels so empty, not much content. Also the AI dialog is pretty bad.
