- be easily localized, or translated, into different languages
- handle multiple locales at once
- be easily modified later to support even more locales

when I enter Locale 1 = new Locale(lang, country);

I get an error saying not a statement. expecting a ;

everything else in the program is exact. Please help.

Nothing against you or the US but for the record, English doesn't belong to the US, it belongs to the English people. Americans speak American English(a version of English language) which is different in numerous ways. England -> English!!!
