if you’ve visited either japan or South Korea or both, how was your experience? ☺️

please keep in mind that these are MY experiences. as i mentioned in this short, i still encourage everyone to visit south korea as you may have a wonderful time 🥰 there is a rich history, unique cuisine, and radiant pop culture that has expanded worldwide.

please do not feel scared to visit based off of personal experiences and generalizations from one 60 second video, and do your own research first. every country has kind people. i wish everyone to make cheerful everlasting memories when they visit another country 💝

South Korean culture is obsessed with having perfect looks, perfect career and perfect life but in reality, nobody is perfect and everyone has flaws.

I appreciate how real this was, many people think living in Korea is just like in K-dramas but it's complete opposite

Im so grateful my experience was completely different and l only met very very kind and helpful people ❤

Even they're aware of their own problems. Almost every K-drama I've seen has some brutal depictions of bullying, the working conditions, sexism, xenophobia, treatment of people with mental illness, government corruption, and the overall treatment by people who feel that they are in anyway superior to you.

that’s really sad. korea is such a mess right now :( i hope they can start making improvements to their society soon

I believe it.
Can’t you see how they treat their stars/idols?. When things don’t go their way they hate on them soo much that some of them end up committing suicide. No safe space when you’re being hated on. And it’s really sad

I like the honesty. So many YouTubers want to paint this rosy picture of Korea and Japan.

Lived in SK for 11 years as a mixed child. My own family rejected me for being half white. I held so much anger and resentment for many years until I learned to let it go

Korea is the prime example of "Everything that glitters is not Gold"

The fact she's been tripped up by a grown man for no reason is wild.

Not all South Koreans are like that. They are people who are really kind.

None of this comes as a shock to me, really. We see this stuff on social media all of the time, but this creator broke it down without sugar coating it like everyone else. Thank you for not lying to our faces blatantly like everyone else, just doing it for a check.

China is the same for the 50kg rule. It's applied to any woman, no matter how tall she is. It's ridiculous. Many healthy women I know range from 60-80kg. 50kg is very low. In fact, recently, my friend, who was 3 months pregnant, weighs 67kg, and is approximately 5ft 4 was told by the doctor that she was overweight and needed to diet. It's crazy and dangerous.

People need to understand that living in south korea isn‘t like a kdrama..

The one trait that is very dominant amongst South Koreans, that's not nearly as prevalent in Japan: JEALOUSLY

True. The happiest Koreans I met have emigrated overseas.

100% agree. Most Japanese and Korean people are respectful and polite, but not gentle, friendly or kind. Many people don’t notice, but there’s a big difference. Polite people will help if needed, kind people help because they want to.

I am Australian and have visitted both countries. I have never had any problem in either South Korea or Japan. I have always found the people helpful and wanting to guide you to see places in their country.
In South Korea I have helped paint small area of a school's wall with clouds. I have been interviewed twice for Korean TV and I have had people rush to help me if I looked the slightest bit lost. I have never had any hate, racism or even anger sent in my direction. The only other thing I would say is that the people of Japan are a little more reserved than Korea.
