U was trying to say that it sounds like A lot of R&B and urban influenced pop. This would make since because Gospel music has had a huge influence on R&B . Soul music is R&B mixed with Gospel technique. U can thank Aretha Franklin for making Gospel singing Techniques popular in R&B. If u listen to Aretha Franklin’s Amazing Grace album u can hear alot of Classic R&B runs from both her and Rev. James Cleveland. K-ci who is considered the most influential male R&B singer from the 90’s got his singing style from James Cleveland.
