I have the makie thump v and these speakers are excellent I use them for every type of gig never had them above half way

I had the 2nd rev thump 12's for a year or two and used them at many gigs including outdoor redbull DJ events, never had to push them into their limiting, plenty loud and very reasonable sounding. Just switched to a passive dB technologies set with QSC PowerLight amps for better scalability. The Thumps are now at an install and still going strong. I have never heard the SRT's but of coarse I believe Rick when he says they sound better then the thumps. But for the money (and also better looks in my opinion) I would go for the Thumps again all day everyday. I think they sound good enough for most smaller mobile gigs. I often don't bring my own equipment and just work as a sound engineer, and I have come across many point sources that didn't sound as good in a similar price range or even more expensive. This is just my 50 cent, sound is a very subjective thing so different people like different systems and I think that's very normal. Apologies for my English, regards from Belgium!

planning to go for 2 thump 214xt, whats ur views in terms of loudness, clarity and bass? wanted the bluetooth version so that i can control the music with my phone when using the speaker for background music.

Was there still enough low end to run these with no subs at say a 100-125 guest wedding? Knowing that the focus with the low end is the dancefloor.

Mackie would have to send me a free set too if they wanted to change my opinion of their speakers. Only then will I stop giving my story in the comments of YouTube Mackie reviews. I started out with Mackie Thump 15A primarily due to the price point. They served my purpose well until... it took a whole nine months to lose one of them. The sub had a dead short. Now, before anyone claims clipping/overdriving, know I was very conservative with them. I splurged and replaced the 1300W Mackie 15s with 2000W QSC K12.2s. The QSC cost twice as much but everything about them proved to be twice as good. I went ahead and ordered a new woofer to fix the Mackie, but that was only to sell them.

Hey there can I use theses with my 18” EV sub? I don’t have the EV speakers anymore but I still hold on to the sub since it’s new and used just 2 times. I’m wondering if I can still use it with other brand of speakers or should I just sell it. Please help.

My Mackie Thump v2 series still going strong and get plenty of compliments how lound they . No clipping what's so ever and there only pushed half way . No reason to up grade yet !!! 😎🎧🔊🎶🎵🎶🎵

I'm not a mackie fan but I was impressed with the mackie drm and srm v class. In this video the srt sounded to hollow to me and cheap, I hate when people promote using tops without subs, can it be done? Yes of course but if you try to get a ton of bass with your tops you can do damage to the woofers overtime, doing it a lot stresses the components of the speaker when it wasn't made for low end, yes obviously if you don't have money for a sub it's okay to use your tops, but when you have a sub available, use it! Your tops will get a lot louder and run more smoothly, and last longer!

The color screen in the back is pretty cool, not a fan of the look tho.
