Who is HOGARTH? Artist Chapter №6

Let me introduce an 18th century English artist and a major art entrepreneur of his time, William Hogarth. Hogarth recognized the commercial potential of prints and engravings among the growing middle class. He sold his prints directly to the public, cutting out the middlemen who traditionally controlled the art market. By doing so, Hogarth was able to maintain control over the production and distribution of his art, and he was able to profit handsomely from its commercial success. Overall, Hogarth's entrepreneurial spirit and marketing savvy helped him become one of the most successful artists of his time, and his legacy as an innovator in the art world continues to be felt to this day.

We could say Rococo style was predominant in his paintings, however - we sometimes even refer to his style as "Hogarthian"! Wow! #goals

You handle Hogarth's innovative strategies for merchandizing his work and the revolutionary way he democratized art so deftly even that part was exciting to watch. But your coverage of his artistry and work itself was absolutely thrilling. Stunningly good video. Beautifully produced too. So much of experiencing art has to do with the sense of engagement and immersion one feels with the art and somehow you bring his work alive in a way that makes the viewer forget he or she is watching a video and is falling into Hogarth's world. This was wonderful, I fell in love with Hogarth when I saw his work in Edmonton. I'm researching about him, that exhibition left a big impact on me, and my early mid-life crisis 🤭💐

Great presentation and such a coincidence because I found a Hogarth painting ( looks like an engraving) and the title is The Lottery. Have you heard of this one? If so, can you tell me what year it was created? There isn’t a date. I found it at a thrift store for 4 dollars so maybe it will bring me luck… LOL, thanks again for sharing your knowledge ❤❤!!!
