About Slant 3D

🏭 High-Volume 3D Printing: Scalability Meets Flexibility
Slant 3D's Large-Scale 3D Print Farms utilize 1000's of FDM 3D printers working 24/7 to offer limitless scalability and unparalleled flexibility. Whether it's 100 or

100,000 parts, our system can handle it reliably, while still allowing for real-time design updates, ensuring products evolve with the times. This adaptability is key in today's fast-paced world.

🌿 Sustainable Manufacturing: Eco-Friendly Efficiency
Embrace a system that drastically reduces carbon emissions by eliminating carbon-intensive steps in the supply chain, such as global shipping and warehousing. Our approach minimizes this footprint, offering a more sustainable manufacturing option.

⚙️ Digital Warehouses: Parts On-Demand
Think of print farms as a "Digital Warehouse", meaning we can store your parts digitally on a server rather than physically on a shelf. parts are available on-demand, reducing the need for extensive physical inventory.

It's not that there isn't enough people to do the work. It's that there isn't enough people to do the work at the wages they're willing to pay. There are plenty of people complaining about their low-end jobs that don't earn them enough to afford to live near the job. By "address labor shortages" you mean "eliminate paying jobs."

The demand for filament will also skyrocket as we progress, and this could help if we can find better ways to turn recyclable materials into filament, but we’re still gonna need materials for it

How could you not find a kid to do scut work at a 3d printing factory? I would have loved a job like that when I was young.

Thanks for the analysis.

PS I don't think the mic you're talking into was actually working on this video.

Not sure if I should put this comment here, or on tangled testing. On Tangled Testing you were talking about testing layer lines, it would be interesting to see the strength difference between a 45 degree dogbone, and a flat one. I put the comment here because I don't see that being a test you would do for that channel, and it might show people the importance of designing their parts to optimize that printing angle.

I dont think the fact that more people can make things means that more things will be made. That may end up being the case, but there is only so much demand, its just that people may make the stuff at home now instead of going to the store to buy it.

If there are more jobs than people to do them, economics would suggest that wages should go up right?

I'm patent pending on a modern take on lost wax casting. 17 hours reduced to 45 minutes. It's around $5000. I'm looking to partner with people like you.

Can you make a video about your auto eject system?

2:13 Do you honestly use that robot to move filament around or are you just using it to make a point? In large warehouses like Amazon it makes sense to program robots to move things around completely automated but I can't imagine how this robot that you seem to have to manually input controls to would possibly be more efficient than a simple rolling cart that is at waist level. I would hate you so much if you told me I had to bend down to the floor to put filament ~1ft off the floor on a robot all day long every day. I would rather carry whole stacks of even 25kg across the room than to have to bend down that low many times a day. You didn't even bend with your knees for the video so I sincerely doubt that you're actually doing this because if you were then your back (or your employees' backs) would be blown out even just setting down "light" stacks like this many times a day.

Great analysis of the emerging additive manufacturing industry. This video would be good as an explanation to people reluctant to adopt the new manufacturing (and distribution and warehousing) technologies.

LOL. Labor supply problems are 99.99% in the hiring pipeline. Remove HR and external recruiters from the pipeline and suddenly there's no labor supply problem. There are plenty of skilled workers and plenty of employers who want them but for some reason most companies have decided to clog up their hiring pipelines with people who have no interest in connecting the two nor the ability to do so if they even wanted to. Remove the clog and you've removed the problem.
