I just recently discovered "Outa My Head, " which is wonderful, and now you're telling me you've been influenced by Nancarrow, which is also wonderful. I first heard his music at a Merce Cunningham performance at Wesleyan University and it totally blew me away. I wanted to know everything about this guy and have been seriously influenced by his work ever since. John Cage is apparently the one who discovered him, which is why Merce picked up on these amazing player piano pieces. I remember a moment when Merce just stood completely still accompanied by this incredibly loud and fast piano music, I thought that was fantastic and in one way or the other it's made its mark on so much of my own work. I love "Outa My Head, " by the way, though I'm not a fan of pop music. Also very impressed by Danny Harle's work. I think some of you folks at PC Music have made a huge breakthrough, which is about time, since hip-hop has been old for a long time now.
