John “Rocky” Barrett, longtime chairman of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, shares how the Citizen Potawatomi Nation long struggled with an imposed system of governance and how it turned to constitutional reform to reshape and stabilize that system so that it is capable of helping the nation achieve its strategic priorities.

Chairman Barrett’s presentation was part of the “Modern Tribal Governments, Constitutions and Sovereignty” breakout session provided by NCAI’s Partnership for Tribal Governance at NCAI’s Annual Convention & Marketplace in Atlanta, GA in October 2014.

As one of those 2nd generation removed Potawatomis I found this video to be amazing and Im extremely thankful you posted this. Having been to a few tribal functions I can attest to the fest that gets laid out, its quite impressive. And knowing how I, my father, and my grandfather would all act if we haven't eaten, I'd say low blood sugar definitely contributed to the political discourse.
