Cinderella's silver dress was pure magic..wish they kept it

I had a sleeping beauty doll when I was little in the 90s. Her dress was temperature controlled. If it was hot it was pink and if it was cold it was blue. I loved that. Only thing is her eyes were always closed because I lived in a desert and it was always hot 😂

Another funny thing is that Disney avoided having two princesses with blue dresses by making Aurora’s dress pink when we already have Ariel with a pink dress. 🙂

Another funny thing is Cinderellas dress was originally pink. Not the dress her fairy god mother gave her, but the one her actual mother had given her which the evil sisters destroyed out of jealousy, hence why the fairy godmother gave her a new dress to replace the moms dress.

I always imagined Cinderella's dress as not silver but crystal/diamond, hence the crystal shoes. She walked into the ball oozing grace, beauty, and wealth ❤

Ive been yelling that Cinderella's dress isnt blue for years and no one believes me. Found out that they changed it from silver/white to blue because they didnt want it to look like they were marketing wedding dresses to little girls

I’ve always seen Cinderella’s dress as silver, maybe with a slight blue hue. Aurora’s color changing dress is everything 😍

the thing is that if they marketed Cinderella w the silver dress, when modelling the doll it would appear as a bride dress (since it's seem to be white/glowy), therefore they had do work w what they had

1. Cinderella's dress is silver, but is marketed blue
2. Aurora's is mostly blue, but is marketed pink
3. Mulan has been marketed wearing sparkly, more "feminine" versions of her casual wear
4. Merida, same thing with Mulan (more "feminine" version of her dress)
It's all about what "sells", even if it isn't staying true to the character unfortunately

The silver dress refers to the grimm’s bros original story where cinderella runs to her mothers grave, where a hazel tree is planted on top and says “shiver and quiver, my little tree. Silver and gold throw down over me”
