Trump revokes ex-CIA Director Brennan's security clearance

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced that President Donald Trump has revoked ex-CIA Director John Brennan's security clearance. Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats was not consulted on the decision.

Revoking their security clearances for passive aggressive ego driven reasons is very dangerous. Those are top officials and leaders in intelligence. Removing their clearance would mean you can never consult with them to assist on matters of national security. Those are the individuals who have been a great part of keeping the country safe and have tremendous insight and experience.

And so stupid, because the reason former intelligence officials retain security clearance is so that they can immediately be called back to consult on crises that arise involving things they may have expertise on. Cutting off people's security clearance just because they said something bad about you is putting your own thin skin and insecure ego ahead of national security.
