I am a bengali teenager... We have read about it like any normal incident in our classes .. but heard miserable stories from elders... One my science teacher told that people used to grab cats and dogs to eat out of hunger 😔😵

Sad Part Is Many People Still Thinks That Britishers Coming To India Was Best Thing Ever Done With India.
They fully ignore the attrocities and economic condition of India under British Raj🇬🇧🇮🇳

Everyone should read AnandaMath Novel by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. The plot background of this book is based on the devastating Bengal famine of 1770 during the period of Company rule in India.

Thank You for spreading the real history. No matter how much people lie there are so many poems & stories written by our Bengali writers on Bengal Femine. It is said Bengal was living hell then as humans looked like skeletons & even mothers used to eat up her newborns out of hunger. We will not forget the brutality & selfishness of Britishers for the pain which millions of Bengali suffered.

I am a bengali and it is extremely sad and demoralising how bengalies still praise and look up to the Europeans after knowing all this.
TO BE VERY HONEST I AM VERY ASHAMED AND DISGUSTED OF THIS KIND OF PEOPLE IN MY COMMUNITY, DISGUSTED SO MUCH THAT I CAN'T EXPLAIN THROUGH WORDS.

In my Maternal Grandmother's Village Shyampur in Vaishali Bihar there were British stables for the horse 🐴
MY Nana and Nani both have seen them, they had always said that how cruel were Britishers. On the day of independence the British didn't leave the legacy they, they hunters to beat the countrymen who were celebrating the Independence

We need to feel shameful when someone says India profited from Britain. Well, they introduced railways and built dams just for their growth in India. We need to de-colonize our country not take pride in it.

Absolutely correct ma'am. Even later their mindset didn't change and we saw another huge famine in Bengal during the time of Winston Churchill ( I prefer calling him the Hitler of India). Keep educating the people about this truth. It is something which should not be ignored. Thank you so much for this!

I'm happy that there are still people to remind us what ruthless Britain did to India. One thing is that the sun never sets in the British emperor and that was broken. We are independent to do good for our country.

Because of the continous famines caused by the British, Indian bodies started storing fats and other nutrients which is one of the reason why many Indians are more prone to type 2 diabetes than other ethnicities.
