Ep 11: At What Age Should I Get My Kid a SmartPhone?

These days, basically every parent is faced with the challenge of: "At what age should I get my child a smartphone?" Of course, there's no perfect answer to this question, but there are some reasonable guidelines that one can follow to help make this determination.

Gramps bought a smartphone to my kid who is 8 years old ("wait till 8" literally :). I was skeptical, however, today I am a convert. The kid keeps texting with people which improves reading and writing. He played some plane simulation games that shocked with me with their complexity and educational value. He likes YouTube spread in bed, and he seems to learn new stuff all the time. I literally have no complaints beyond the fact that he tends to keep the phone too close to his face. His eyesight is ok thus far. I personally enjoy the fact that he does not disrupt my conversations (e.g. with his teachers). When bored, he pulls out the phone.
