Thank you so much for this walk through. I spilled water on my Toshiba yesterday and fried the keyboard. I couldn't even start the computer to disable it because it was holding down random keys. Watched your video and took it out in no time. Now I have an external keyboard plugged in and it works like a charm. Waiting on my replacement keyboard as we speak. Thanks again!

Thanks for this vid, spilled some liquid on the keyboard and fried the circuits.  I had no idea how to take the keyboard off an a505 but thanks to you I took it off and determined that only the keyboard was damaged.  Now just waiting for the replacement in the mail while using an external.

Thank you for posting this.  I just got the new keyboard and thought I remembered this as being a major project.  Is it ok if I'm a little more delicate than you on prying out that trim piece?  Haha. j/k. Thanks. Good video.

@crazy4fieldhockey Yeah, I lost 30 pounds in the last 2 months. I considered vlogging about it... I use the Wii Fit to track it, so I might give a break down of where I was and where I am now. In short, I am at 225 looking to get to 180 by March 2012. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Question.. I have a A505 and overheats very bad, do you know how to open up the laptop and apply some thermal glue or something to reduce the heat?

Hello Rictor, I appreciate the video. I replaced the keyboard and it's still not working. Any advice on else might be the problem. Laptop (A505-S6005) water was spilled on it awhile ago. The laptop still works I just have to use a USB keyboard & mouse.

Just wondering, did a keyboard replacement work for you? Spilled water on my laptop also. But a keyboard replacement did not work for me. Also, touchpad is not working. I'm using a usb keyboard & mouse. :(

I dont think this applies to me because apple will tear your face off and feed it to lions if you so much as breath on the innards of a mac (but i did it anyway BWA HAHA)
