Some of you takes cover songs too seriously. It is simply a sign of respect to their influences in making music. You ever hear a song that is so good it gets stuck in your head, constantly playing in your mind and/or singing it yourself? This is what happens when musicians really dig another's music. Also, beginners typically learn to play other people's stuff before they learn to play their own. I have met a lot of guitarists who has "that one song" they learned that greatly helped them get started. In my opinion, covering is important in the world of music, for music begets music. Now, I've never heard the original before hearing this cover, but thanks to Volbeat, Young the Giant has a new potential fan. And if one is curious for any reason, I like both versions equally for different reasons, but if pressed, I'd prefer the original. Let's just listen to some tunes, don't feed the trolls, and disregard the opinions that are expressed in a distasteful manner. There's too much bullshit going on in the real world, no need to bring it here :)

I think both versions are very well made. When judging a song even a cover you have to look at the song by itself. Not be bias or compare it to other songs. When you hear a song and it makes you wanna move and sing along its a truly good song (for you... remember not everyone has the same opinion)
