Stretching from the waterfront near Pier 62 to Capitol Hill, Pine Street has undergone various changes to better accommodate pedestrians and cyclists. Recently, a section of Pine Street between Melrose and 8th avenues transitioned to a one-way street, westbound only, to create a safer and more pleasant downtown experience. This change is part of a larger initiative to reconfigure Pine and Pike streets into one-way roads, enhancing the downtown area for all travelers.
