So far from this, learned a lot, but I think the most fascinating of it all is the fact that fishes can regulate their buoyancy through their swim bladder, I had no idea that instead of angling themselves a certain to say, swim up or down, they rather just internally change some of the gases (or the fluids found in sharks) to help go up and down. Overall really good lecture, and I'm absolutely loving it so far. 26:31 where I'm at rn, just after swim bladder section.

Edit: Apparently sharks also have tail fins that allow lift??? So not only do they fluids in their liver that help regulate buoyancy but they also have herterocercal tails which allows lift whilst swimming? I didn't get to this until the next lecture, Locomotion. Really loving and enjoying these mate. Very well done.

tbh i loved this decision to make these videos i’ve always wanted to be a marine biologist but realized the need for them isn’t in high demand so not much opportunities for me, so just wanted to say thanks for giving me and others this opportunity to at least follow up on our passions

For 10:03, it would've been nice to see a graph with the diagram.

It also would be nice to see a comparison between tidal ventilation, crosscurrent, and countercurrent flow.
That would've explained why gas exchange in fish is efficient compared to other animals.

So, would a fish with more white muscle be able to "sprint" faster or for longer than one with less? Also I like how this series is sort of following along the layout of that severn-hundred-page book you showed on Discord. I'm only about 200 pages into it so maybe this'll be covered in there but, I'd love to see an episode of this about how deep-sea fish survive.
