The #1 Reason Most Health Coaches Quit

We’re made to believe that starting a health coaching business is easy peasy.

Many of the health coach and health coaching business trainings paint the picture of it being ‘cake’.

All you need to do is get a health coach certification, follow this step-by-step plan that someone else took in their health coaching business and you’ll have coaching clients begging to work with you and you’ll be making $10K in 3 months.

The truth is that 90% of health coaches (in my estimate) never make an income they can live off of in their business. Truly this number may be even higher.

Most health coaches either never really get started in their business or they start and quickly (within the first 2 years) quit.

In this video I explain why that is and I share what you must know and do to become part of the 10% who do go on to create a successful health coaching business.

If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up, subscribe, share it with your friends.

I'd love to hear your biggest take-away from today's video. Can you relate to the challenges that a lot of coaches face that makes them want to quit? Being aware of this is so powerful. Thanks for watching!

You are such a help to me as a new midlife coach. It’s just so tough at the beginning. Yes!! Feeling uncomfortable a lot and humiliated at times but I’m not giving up as I have an ability to help women xx

Yes, yes, yes! This is what people tend to forget. Being self-employed is not about following your bliss. It's hard (this is coming from someone who is self-employed, has a self-employed husband and had a self-employed father). It never stops being challenging. But so doesn't being an employee. Pick which battle you're better cut out for.

This is EVERYTHING!! For me it is making a choice about what I consider “my hard”…after serving in the corporate world for 30 years…I’m ready to do the “other hard” to get to MY own business!! That other hard means I need to take more risks and put myself out there… thank you for this!!! ❤

This was a great and articulated video. I have a couple of clients and am in my marketing phase of business. I truly agree creating a business takes time, and there are going to be lots of ebs and flows. This video resonated with me in the sense that discomfort is inevitable, I have to choose which discomfort is more pressing. I work a desk job while working on my business and there are times my internal dialogue is "I'm pouring so much energy into this business while barely making enough money in my regular job, how sustainable is this", but maybe this is the test. How long can I stand in the fight for passion. How important is my passion to me, maybe I have more than I am capable of to give, and this is a test of faith and belief in myself. This video reminded me to keep trying and to not give up, my passion outweighs my fears. Thank you for this video, you did a great job!

I am just starting out and setting my price point and thinking about actually asking people for money is a hard thing for me. I have been just giving free advice and helping people as much as I can all the time, so shifting to asking for payment for it makes me feel greedy lol I know it is a business and that is the point. But you are dead on about that self doubt creeping in. Makes you think "am I really helpful enough to charge money for basically a conversation"

I needed to hear this. This was literally me yesterday. Trying things. Not seeing results. Expecting the seeds to be trees. Getting tired being uncomfortable and for the first time thinking “maybe I’m not cut out for this.” The idea of nurturing…. I’ll carry that with me. Thank you!

As a spanking new trauma recovery coach, I really needed to hear this today and found it very encouraging to know I'm not alone with some of the thoughts mentioned here!

Great video! As new personal trainer and nutrition coach here I needed to hear this because as this is a new career choice in my late 30s starting this fitness journey from ground zero can be scary and uncomfortable but I would rather be uncomfortable doing something for myself then living a life to please others so thank you for this message 🙏🏾❤️

Helpful video as I’m learning about starting a business. I’m still learning the big picture of what it means to develop a successful business. The consensus out there seems to be that it takes time and trial and error. Lots to know, so I’m off to watch another video!

Knowing that it takes time for people to build trust before they decide to work with you is one of the most powerful things for me. It's very reassuring and will help get through the first awkward months or years.

Thank you. This was very helpful. Sometimes I ask myself "why am I even doing this?" It's a challenge for sure.
