I had State Farm for auto/home for over 25 years in VA. Then I moved to a semi-rural county in Ohio where every other house had a wood stove. My new Ohio home had a workshop with a wood stove. State Farm told me they wouldn't insure me unless I got rid of the wood stove. I said "no" and got myself another insurance company.

If you bought your home for 200, 000 and now it’s “worth” 550, 000, your insurance will have to go up 2 1/2 times to cover your possible rebuild. And that goes for anything, hail damage etc., repair cost have skyrocketed. Thought you were a “millionaire “, you’re going to pay as if you are.

All modern police cars have the license plate readers and their access to your information is pretty much unlimited...scary!

I have had State Farm for 38 consecutive years from California to Nevada now. I have had 2 car insurance claims (the last in 2009) and no home insurance claims. I have extremely high limits on all of my policies with them. My credit score hovers around 830. Their rates are the best I have found anywhere. My increases are far less than I am seeing for others in both home and auto. They are sorting out the risky policies and cherry picking the better customers who their algorithms tell them to insure because they have the least amount of risk.

You're right Dan. Wreck tow companies hate State Farm here in VA because they are the last ones to send an adjuster to make a disposition on a wrecked car. Geico is by far the fastest and most responsive company to come and evaluate wrecks and get repairs done if the vehicle is not totalled.

Back in the 80's I ran away from State Farm Car insurance .For no reason they kept raising my Car Insurance .They been up to no good since the 1980's .I was in my 20's short distance driving .My car was a 1965 Mustang .True story
