There is a quite gimmicky set that I personaly love. It is focused around the Chaotic Gore Magala weapons, specially the LS, SnS, Hammer, Lance, SA and IG.


Skills: Sharpness+2, Razor Sharp, Antivirus, Crit Boost and Critical Eye+1/+2 (depending on the weapon slots).
It allows any of the chaotic weapons to reach close to 100% affinity during the virus buff state, without the need of Weakness Exploit. It works amazingly well against Gore and Shagaru, but it can also be used against other monsters if you bring the Frenzy Fever hunter art. As I said, is very gimmicky and in most cases requires the use of a specific hunter art, but the fact it doesn't depend on Weakness Exploit makes it a good option against monsters with shitty hitzones like Redhelm, Snowbaron, Crystalbeard or Lao Shan Lung.

Since I didnt see you mentioning it and ofc GS always having a heavier weight on draw style types here is a set you didnt mention.

As for building it only requires your set searcher and either a wex 6 000 or a focus 6 000 charm.
Its a GS set mostly used for non sheathe style hence adept GS, Valor GS strong charge style or also hame since not having to sheathe is great for lockdown situations as well. Hope u find it useful.

One Great Sword set I like to use with monsters I'm comfortable with:

Noble Scar - 390 attack, -50% affinity

This set gets you:
Sharpness +1
Critical Draw
Weakness Exploit
Critical Boost
Focus

You can get 100% affinity when hitting weak zones thanks to Crit Draw giving you +100% affinity on draw attacks and Weakness Exploit nullifying the Noble Scar drawback.

I really wanted to use that sword.

Edit.: Oh yeah, forgot to add that you needed Sharpness +1 to hit white sharpness, I'd say you have a comfortable amount if you're using Absolute Readiness but I can see myself having to stop to sharp my sword if I switch with something else.

5:12 i use a set with the same skills, only i have it to where the gems are contained in the armor itself. I use it as kind of a general use for any weapon that has good purple on sharpness 1. It's a variation of the standard John Cena set. The main downside is that is has 711 def, even with armor tali/talon. the pieces are:
