Such a great podcast episode. It’s good to see healthcare professionals spreading awareness and correct information to educate people about vaccines, especially this one.

I had myocarditis and PVCs after the second COVID vaccination, which apparently is fairly rare for a middle-aged man. It resolved in a few months and subsequent vaccinations didn't cause any symptoms.

This is the quality, transparency and informedness of conversation we could have had if the entire public comms effort wasn't having to fight blanket anti-vaccine/pro-disease advocacy. Nuance is the first casualty of marketing.

A childhood friend got Covid in December 2020, shortly before vaccines were available. She's still struggling with the cardiac issues, and is getting an ablation this summer and hopes to get off the meds. Her husband was hospitalized with screaming high BP. Both were older but previously healthy before infection. Long Covid is no joke.

My brother and I both had this, though our GP misdiagnosed it as costochondritis initially. We both got checked out at A&E as a precaution (which was when they realised the mistake). It cleared up on its own. Bit uncomfortable, but a few years earlier, mono/glandular fever nearly killed me and destroyed my tonsils, so I'll take the vaccine, I'm good with that.
Loving this frank discussion- sad that mis- and disinformation have made vaccination such a polarising debate.

We have to remember that no medicine is without side effects. If it doesn't have any side effects then chances are it doesn't do anything.

I wanna point out the "transient and self-resolving" because yeah it's a scary side effect but it's not generally dangerous enough for hospitalization. Of course there's always a danger of something worse but that's normal, not even water is 100% safe

it's a pretty good point to mention that of course if it's something doctors hadn't seen before they will be more cautious and therefore rather keep people in the hospital to monitor them

People are going to hear the wrong thing from this and not pay attention to the full context...

I PERSONALLY know of THREE people in my life who had myocarditis, one of them being a 15 year old boy that collapsed on the hockey rink and died. I think these stats are hugely under-reported.

I am one of many who's the Covid shots affected. I had thought my lung collapsed or something since a friend had many of the same symptoms previously, which totaled up to collapsed lung, so I assumed the same. After various tests, I was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy and the doctors agreed that the Pfizer covid vaccine caused it, as it shortly happened after the first shot and persisted after the second.

I was honestly afraid to tell friends and family the cause of this and I am glad doctors are coming out with the truth.

I am not anti-vax by any means, but please exercise caution with this one.

October of 2022 at age 61 I saw my primary care doctor. I was fine. He gave me a Covid booster. Four days later I was in congestive heart failure caused by… myocarditis. I can’t say with 100% certainty that it was caused by the booster. But if the booster was being tried in a court of law, I think it would be guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Doctors like these come forward with the problem as well as the solutions rather than just hyping themselves up like I'M CORRECT AND MY VACCINE IS THE BEST. Doctors like you are needed in this society

I never had any problems with people wanting to be vaccinated one way or the other for COVID. I just didn't like that people were trying to push me to get the vaccine after I'd already had COVID and therefore already had the subsequent health concerns that went along for the ride. There was only the most extreme marginal benefit from getting the vaccine at that point, and the slight risk of vaccine injury (because no one was aspirating the needles these days) far outweighed my risk assessment for benefit.

What's going on with all the excess deaths?

When I first started getting weird chest pains after the COVID vaccine, I thought it could be costochondritis bc the symptoms were similar. Had to go get checked out by a Cardiologist to find out everything looked fine and all test results came back normal. It went away eventually, but I was dealing with that weird pain for months.

I know three people who my kids and I come into regular close contact with who have all been fully vexed. They all just had covid this month. We didn't show any symptoms at all. None of us had ever been vexed for covid. This is the second time this has happened also.

Dr. Mike, I'm curious what your thoughts are about the Change Healthcare data breach that occurred and United Health Group's delay in resolving the issue. Is it affecting the practice you are with?
