Mick was WAY to generous to his apponent and the company, he allowed people to take advantage of his generosity, Mick was and is a legend, but why the f*ck would you do that?, You could argue that it got them both "over" and it was great for the company, but you don't or didn't need to put yourself in major harm's way.

I think people remember that match because it's in the movie beyond the mat and you see for the first time behind the scenes what really goes on with production and the scripts and the pro mo's are written and the wrestlers really do get along with each other and their characters are the ring and once the bell rings it's go time and once that bell rings again and you've done your job and someone's gotten the pin and the good guy wins the bad guy loses or what have you then it's OK we've done our jobs let's go in the back and take a shower and let's debreaf and see what we could have done better and that's exactly what they did but in mick foley case they didn't
He took over a handful of chair shots he had a 9" gash in his forehead and It was in front of his 2 children who were very young at that time who were scared out of their mind and I think Dwayne kind of blames himself and takes a little bit of responsibility for giving someone to many headshots and I think that someone within the company should have been able to communicate after the 1st 2nd or maybe the 3rd time don't do that and so I think there's enough blame to go around for the 2 men in the ring it was what it was and you learn from it and we know not to do it again
