Doom, Stoner, Sludge, Post Metal probably my favourite area of Metal. these are probably my favourite albums from DOOM bands (although i wouldn't call them all DOOM).

My favourite doom metal band is Woods of Ypres, although their sound crosses into black metal as well. They're just fantastic. RIP David Gold.

Cathedral "Forest of Equilibrium" the best Doom album ever. Outstanding in every aspect, meoldically, lyrically, heavy as fuck, every song with the potential of being a classic. And no boring death growls.

I still hold the belief that even with as much press they get when they have new releases, it’s a crime Thou isn’t much bigger than they already are. Extremely versatile group that leans into their influences incredibly well and handles the genre with great care without ever giving into the mainstream tropes. True underground legends

Love a lot of these bands. Khemmis espeically are probably my favourite doom metal band altogether, a truly perfect discography and a great group of dudes.

Awesome choices Metal Trenches; I really enjoy Primitive Man, Khemmis, Swallow the Sun, and Triptykon as well. I would also recommend Type O Negative, Katatonia, Spirit Adrift, and Pallbearer for doom metal bands for people who don't like doom metal.

There's a doom metal band from Brazil, singing in Portuguese, called INTO THE DUST. The band started in 1996, and they have about 4 albums. You can find them here or on Spotify.

I'm not the biggest doom/sludge fan, but DAMN I love Boris and YOB! The new Conjurer was also one of my favs last year. I'm also loving Dreadnought thanks for the rec!

Man, Pallbearer are a fantastic band. Literally all of their albums are great, but foundations of burden and forgotten days are just masterpieces. Heavy riffs, beautiful melodies, great vocals and just fantastic lyrics, particularly on forgotten days.

Swallow the Sun slaps and I am so happy to see them get some love.
My personal favourite doom albums are My Dying Bride's Ghost of Orion, Songs from the North (all 3 of them) and Emerald Forest by Swallow the Sun, October Tide's A thin Shell, and Obsidian by Paradise Lost (although more goth than doom). Doom VS and Saturnus are also bands worth checking out. In Mourning also have some doomish moments and vibes although they are a prog melodeath band

edit: how can I forget Katatonia? Not playing doom anymore but they are the kings of melancholy

That's a good list, some of them were new to me. I'd definitely add couple of great doom bands on the list. My all time fav is YOB. Very versatile band in the genre. Pallbearer is another one I hugely like. Dark lyrics with suprisingly couple of major keys used their music. The third I have to say a classic doom 'grandpa' is a Finnish Scepticism. Slow, doomy, yet liberating athmosphere.
