Why do an estimated 90% of startups fail? What separates those that get disrupted and disappear from the startups that become successful global enterprises? According to LinkedIn Co-founder, Greylock Partner, and host of the award-winning Masters of Scale Podcast, Reid Hoffman, the secret is blitzscaling—a technique for rapidly scaling companies by prioritizing speed over efficiency in the face of uncertainty.

The key to becoming a global giant is a specific set of practices for igniting and managing growth which helps accelerate the path to that stage in a startup's life-cycle where the most value is created. This strategy has spurred the hyper growth that produced iconic companies like Amazon, Alibaba, and Google. In their new book “Blitzscaling” Reid Hoffman and entrepreneur Chris Yeh share their knowledge of business models that support lightning-fast growth, how to navigate necessary shifts in strategy at each level of scale, and ways to manage the challenges that arise as companies grow. They also offer insight into blitzscaling for non-profits, how this growth technique can be used responsibly, and ways to blitzscale in other countries.

Join Reid Hoffman for a conversation with James Manyika, Chairman and Director, McKinsey Global Institute, to learn more about scaling startups into billion-dollar businesses and how blitzscaling can be replicated in any region or industry around the world.

When you prioritize speed over efficiency in an environment of uncertainty, somehow it makes me feel being at the beginning of the XXI. century, and in a bubble. And perhaps only those will survive who can hit the highest efficiency rate at the same high-speed interval. Which suggest to me that you need more or something else than just bullishly pressing the gas pedal. You need a good insight, vision, excellent business skills, and a team of over achievers who shares the same vision with you. Otherwise it will be just a balloon to explode.
