I'm seeing comments from a lot of younger folks and that is cool! It means Sammy touched another generation and any Rocker out there is honored by that.

But let me share some old days. I was sitting right there in front on the TV when Three Lock Box aired on MTV...and ill be honest...me and my 2 other 13 year old bros were like wha?? All dressed in red spandex with golden curly short hair...and he's a Rocker?

We were used to Def Leppard, Madonna. And Scorpions. And here's old curly top.

Then he plays that 3 lock box solo and we were sold. Right there he became the Red Rocker, and he only ever got better. We watched a Legend hatch...an honor.

People talk about van Halen vs van hagar. Just look up Sammy before all that. Me (and we) the oldest fans know exactly who he is. He'll be the Red Rocker til we're all dead.

To bring back Montrose and the Van Halen, Sammy Era is fantastic!!! I don't think that after you were gone opinions were Dave didn't like it. Well Dave couldn't sing it. He could hardly sing his own songs. I would prefer people thought of this as the entity of VAN HALEN!! It's gone now, let's respect the entity!!! Mabey someone should make a page the VAN HALEN ENTITY!!!

I wish there was a way for me to propose to my wife at one of Sammy's birthday bashes. I grew up watching VH with sammy and my wife is 9 years younger, but loves sammy. We've had the roughest 10 years and I'd love the chance to go back and do it right. Proposing with sammy and Mikey singing love walks in would be a dream come true for this nobody. I'd sell everything I own to pay sammy.
