THEORY: In Security Breach Nightmarrionne plushie is hidden throughout it. In that game the plushie was called Nightmare. The plushie suggested that there was a darker version of the Puppet which now is clearly the Mimic further supporting this is that in the bio they say “original nightmare” the Mimic is the original Puppet and the darker version of the Puppet is referred to as Nightmare in Security Breach.

I think that the mimic was a old clown from the circus and was able to copy voices for its performance at its circus and once it got stuck under the pizzaplex it used its ability to lower in its victims

In the trailer, you can pause the screen during the film reel transition and see the year “1979”. As we know, Fall Fest took place in 1970, which implies that this new game will be taking place either during or just after Fall Fest. This could also imply that the Mimic may have been created to help run Fall Fest, which would make perfect sense as if you wanted to have robots/animatronics run Fall Fest, then you would most likely want them to be as “human” as possible, which would be perfect for the Mimic1 program. That is if Steelwool isn’t following the books completely.
And if Steelwool is following the books a bit more, and if Henry is the game’s “in-universe” version of Edwin Murray, then the fact that the new teaser shows the (assumed) Mimic inside a music box could indicate that Henry built the Mimic as a friend for Charlie (who possesses the Puppet which resides within a music box). This could also explain why Glitchtrap took the form of an almost plush-like rabbit and would wave with a tilted head, as in the Silver Eyes trilogy Charlie had a toy rabbit named Theodore that would wave with a tilted head. This would be just like how Edwin built the Mimic for his son David and the Mimic eventually took the form of the white tiger plush (as the Storyteller) that David had. This could also explain the violent tendencies of the Mimic, as maybe Henry became violent towards the Mimic after it continued to imitate Charlie after her murder, just as Edwin did after David’s death.
I also believe that Henry is who is in the games, not Edwin Murray, because while Pizzeria Simulator is said to be an in-universe game in the books, the actual pizzeria is beneath the Pizzaplex and we can see what seems to be a place similar to the office in Help Wanted 2: First Aid (where we go against many of the same animatronics from Pizzeria Simulator such as PigPatch, Lefty, and Scrapbaby in both masked and unmasked levels, implying that they exist in reality) We should also note that the voice that guides us in First Aid and named “Carnival Nurse”, and FuhNaff’s theory about the Mimic1 program on the chip in Circus Baby that is also found in Helpy’s brain goes to show the connections between the Mimic and Fall Fest which also seems to link the Mimic to Henry or at least links them to the same places. I’m also partial to believing that Henry is the in-game counterpart because we have been shown that William Afton is the real counterpart through all games, books, and even the movie, and it doesn’t make sense to have Henry not be who is actually in the games considering that we have Charlie whom we learned the name of through the Silver Eyes trilogy and that we can see during the FNaF Pizzeria Simulator “Insanity” ending that the file name begins with HRY which is presumably short for Henry.

Just came up with a theory so hear me out… so I see clown I think ennard so I think the mimic was supposed to be a sister location animatronic meant to mimic voices to try and lure kids into their demise which honestly fits really well given that the whole idea of the funtimes was to capture and kill kids.

Maybe during some king of circus or carnival the mimic was used as an attraction but then it witnessed something that turned it aggressive and violent which led to it no longer being used.

Also seeing how theirs a music box it could possibly indicate that maybe theirs a version of the mimic that’s mimicking the puppet/marionette or maybe the puppet dates back to the origins of the mimic.

Something I think might happen is that there might be numerous animatronic versions of the mimic each for different attractions as different characters.

I’m also hoping this can could confirm whether or not the tales from the pizzaplex books are canon to the games.

We’ve seen a different version of the Puppet in other animatronic suits (like Lefty!) so it’s totally possible the game is going to be about Mimic taking over the others (maybe to avoid being scrapped?). Can’t wait to see what they do!
