Who else hear is listening to this in 2024? So timeless! I started listening to JD again as I was going on a walk near Monterey and stumbled upon a memorial that marked where he crashed.

When I first listen to John Denver’s songs in 1974, I was in senior high school, a 16 years old teenager. It’s now 2024 and I’m 66 years old, a senior citizen in my golden years and I’m still so much in love with John Denver’s songs. Anyone here shares similar sentiments like me for over 50 year long…♥️

My father passed away and as I set her preparing the eulogy for the family, I'm listening to John Denver, one of Dad's favorites. I feel Dad now, sitting with me in the car, with the John Denver 8 Track playing on.

I'm still listening to this man in 2023. I guess I always will. I've loved his beautiful heartfelt music since the age of 12.

I met him personally at Frankfurt airport when I brought him to his plane. It was the day after his concert and he was such a sweet and handsome person and ever so natural. I will never forget this moment and he will always be in my heart as John, the great person and singer. Thanks God for letting me know him

I am playing it for my sister who has severe dementia. Before he died unexpectedly, her husband used to play on his guitar and sing it to her. ❤😢

Just adding my random John Denver moment that I thought y'all would appreciate as it is a glimpse of how far his music reaches and how much it means to people all over the planet. In my neighborhood, once a year we do a grill out in your front yard event. A few years back I'm grilling burgers in my front yard and blasting JD on the Bluetooth speaker and my next door neighbor who was born and raised in Bangladesh came out just to listen and stood next to me not saying much until the song was over (can't remember which song). Once it ended he proceeded to thank me for playing John Denver and told me how much he and essentially his entire country adores his music. In that moment I began to appreciate JD's music so much more because it connected a plain old country boy from TX and his bro from Bangladesh on a level I never suspected possible.

Peace and love, y'all.

Humans are able to create such lovely tunes, such wonderful words. But most of us aren‘t able to help another, to say such words to others.
Most of us live in theyre own brain capsule. For the most its a thing they cant handle, like an unreachable mountaintop. But… if the Heart is open, all is possible.
Just try to spread out the love. Music like this is helpful to be kind. When was the last time YOU told another „Hey, i just like u“?
It is not that diffcult.

Im from Germany, so sorry for my english, mates. ;)
Stay healthy.

I owned every album he made and went to 2 concerts, owned his autobiography and still he is my favorite singer. I cried so hard the day he died. I still listen to his music to calm me when I'm depressed or anxious. He was a true master.

I'll admit, I get pretty damned emotional whenever I listen to John's music. Each time I listen to his music, I hear something new, something I hadn't noticed before even if I'd listened to that song many times. John was many things, not all good, but above all I believe he cared about people, about ALL people.

It comes through loud and clear in many of his lesser knows songs, like Its About Time and a poem called The Box. I'm listening to this as the Russian invasion of Ukraine enters it's second week. A useless, horrible war with so much death and destruction. If only, if only enough people listened to Denver's songs and took them to heart, maybe, just maybe, we could indeed change the world.

My dad introduced me to John Denver when I was very young. I will forever be grateful to have heard such a beautiful voice and so many beautiful songs. Listening to him in 2024. No one writes like this anymore.
