fun fact: As Mechanical 3D Design Engineer, i worked exactly on this Light and the open/close Mechanism as i was employed for an austrian engineering contractor which got the contract to create a manufacturable design from Volvo. was a fun project!

I am in the automotive lighting industry. This was headlight concept is called Thor’s hammer it was introduced at the OPTICA convention in 2022 by Jose Pozo. Shout out to Paul Henry from Volvo Cars and his team of engineers who designed this bad ass headlight. Congrats on the work man looks awesome.

I owned a 1989 Ford Probe that had pop-up headlights. It was a good car, it lasted for 10 years and the only problem I had with it were the tie rods. 🏎️

My 1994 with pop up’s actually have pop up’s, unlike this

Pop-up headlights solved a purpose, they made the car more aerodynamic in the day
This is just fancy for no reason and if a motor goes out your headlight wont start either
