In this video I explain Ichibe vs Yhwach, discussing BLEACH’s strongest characters battling in one of the most highly anticipated battles of the Thousand Year Blood War. This was one of the most anticipated fights of all Bleach. Really hope the anime does justice to all their unique abilities and interactions!

I didnt think Ichibae vs Hwach was underwhelming. It was Zero Squad vs the Royal guard that was underwhelming

I just remember loving Squad 0 when they first appeared. Then they were turned into fodder and I forgot all their names.

This is one of the main fights I want to see animated I swear ichibei is so wise and powerful and the way he fought in this battle was crazy it kind of look like Yhwach could of lost that battle

Honestly a lot of the fights in the TYBW arc were on fire. But with broken abilities like Juha and ichibei it's really hard to have a good solid fight. This includes Gérard's fight as well. It will disappoint regardless. Gérard should have just died when hitsugaya froze his miracle ability, that should have been the end of it. But kubo just kept on going and couldn't stop, it's the same for most of the quincy royal guard.

I wish it had been longer too, it reminded me of the final battle of Ichigo and Ulquiorra with the latter absolutely dominating for most of the fight then Ichigo goes full hollow and ends the fight almost immediately. Ichibe and Yhwach both had totally broken abilities though.

The Zero Squad getting off-screen can be easily fix in the anime. Have Zero Squad revealed their bankais and kill Yhwach's Elite Quincy in a fight like Oetsu did. Let them be badass and stronger than Gotei 13. Then have Yhwach Almighty kill then off similar to what he did to Ichibei while slowly walking forward, and changed the future to where his Elite Quincy were never killed by Zero Squad without explaining this power. It would be foreshadowing this power so when Jugram brings it up again it just doesn't come out of nowhere.

I never understood the exact way Yhwach actually destroyed Ichibe!
Ichibe just literally blew up and I couldn't figure out what Yhwach said/did to him???
This was a weird ending that really made no sense to me.

I know It won't ever happen, but honestly the entire Squad 0 vs Schutzstaffel sequence should be redone. The royal guard MOCKED the Gotei for losing to the Quincy, just to be obliterated by them with negligible difficulty a few chapters after. They feel underpowered compared to the Gotei in the end, since a lot of captains survived the invasion of Soul Society and came back to kick the Quincy out, while the entire Squad 0 got "killed" (they cannot die) and the Soul King was murdered.
Kubo should take his time and rethink what he really wanted from these 5 characters, redefine their abilities and them give us a proper arc in the anime. Of course, I understand his limitations and know that It won't be a thing.

This fight is basiclly a battle between Jesus and Buddha. And the more you learn about both of them, you see how there is no real ‘good guy’ in this fight, only different shades of gray. The artwork is some of the best in the whole series imo, the way black is used is really great.

There are four Sternritter promoted to be Yhwach's personal bodyguards, the Schutzstaffel, Pernida Parnkgjas, Askin Nakk Le Vaar, Lille Barro, and Gerard Valkyrie. Each of them is chosen because of their incredible Schrifts, and they make an excellent counter to the overwhelming zero squad. Between them, they can control objects, manipulate death, and turn into literal gods. It's no wonder that the Royal Guard is effortlessly defeated by the Schutzstaffel.

Really wish that Kubo wrote it so that Squad Zero didn't get *completely* demolished and had a couple of them help at the end of the arc. Granted, he did say in the latest panel that there will be fights that didn't get published in the manga that will be animated so it'll be interesting to see exactly what he changes

I still don't understand how Ichibei lost. It doesn't matter what Yhwach's power was, he shouldn't have been able to use it once he was completely covered by Ichibei's ink.

Do people really think it was that underwhelming? I thoroughly enjoyed the whole fight from start to finish and is one of my favourite fights in bleach

I agree, the fight should have been much longer. I expected more. What did happen was rly cool to see, and getting to see ichibes powers be put on display was awesome. Definitely one of the fights I'm looking forward to seeing animated.

But I can't help but feel ichibe was cheap shotted. A sucker punch from a broken ability and he was done. It also made it seem like ichibe's bankai was too easily overcome. I don't mind someone not winning the battle automatically from a bankai. Having someone still lose can still keep things interesting. But this fight was just like, shikai, bankai, ywach is dead, sike ichibe is dead. Would've been nice for those moments to have been spaced out a bit.

I'm not arguing with the outcome btw, he's supposed to be the most powerful villain, so it makes sense he wins. But I would've liked to have seen it atleast be more of a struggle for ywach to win. Have a big back and forth fight, then ichibe gets the upper hand, ywach nearly escape death and then ywach wins.. maybe leave ywach scarred/injured after. Would've much rather seen something like that happen.

I hope the anime fixes a lot of what felt like rushed content being pushed just to end the manga. Moving away from the source content slightly to enhance the interactions of characters and some of the character's battles that happened off screen would be welcomed by me
