Why is this video called Problems with film photographers? They just talk about how great it is.

Film photography Helped me going out of my comfort zone, having little like 36 poses obligates you to get the BEST out of those few pics you have, you can't just waste them without thinking! I love film photography

The thing at the end with about merti g 2 points in the triangle was SO true.
- Will you meet people
- Will you learn
- Do you make money

If I get 2 of those, successful venture

Should be called "The problem "with clickbait""

People shoot film because it looks cool are exact part of the people who keep film alive. You cannot expect everyone taking it so seriously, I only wish more people try to "look cool" so that Fuji does not need boost price due to reduced scale of production and maybe, a wild maybe, Kodak brought back Kodachrome which I still cannot see a replacement in the digital world (Leica M9 maybe? but it is a camera with flawed design and 1600 euro repair risk)

in art school i wasn't allowed to use digital cameras. at first i was really bummed about it but now i'm so hooked on film it really slows down the process and learns you to look better and take your time

I shoot both film and digital and both have their place. I shoot wildlife with digital because of the FPS, and I shoot it in the studio because I like to work tethered. But you can’t compare using sliders in Lightroom to working in a darkroom.

When it comes down to whatever you use. Simply understanding the principles of photography and proven techniques will help you. Digital or film whatever, it all comes down to your eye.

So loved Willems chat about the triangle of values! That's super valuable. Really enjoyed this episode :)

Why not challenge yourself more and shoot ‘candid’ film instead of ‘staged/posed’? It is easy to stage a shot, but to seek out a shot doing candid photography is a pure challenge.

I started film in 1976 with the Olympus m1. I don't like film due to the cost. Insane that film has never been cheaper to develop and print.

However, there's a fair number of cameras that are unabashedly analog bodies with a digital sensor.

Pen F
Fuji xt series
Fuji x100
Leica

The Pen F you can turn the display so you cannot see it, set ISO once, set the viewfinder to optical, and there's your analog experience, warts and all.

There are definitely more types of photographers who shoot film than just those doing it as a hobby and fashion photographers. Many landscape photographers still shoot film and the list goes on.

*Shooting film can suck but it makes you very attentive to detail due to the amount of shots you get*

great video, so cool to hear these insights. However I cant find the podcast on apple podcasts :( or on spotify either.
for those who couldnt identify the studio name Willem mentioned, it's high snobiety, not "heissen abiding" like the captions said xD
