The different microwaves make sense. Some people who are very strict with eating kosher or halal must use cooking items that are not used for anything else, including microwaves. My dad knew a woman whose grandmother was so strictly kosher she had two sets of cookware, one for dishes with meat, one for dishes with dairy. Her aunt (the grandmother's daughter in law) mixed them up once and her grandmother threw both sets of cookware out the window.
