It’s a little sad when someone tries to be polite and completely fall face first.

Having autism, I can definitely relate to apologizing for everything. It's a pain in the ass! But, I'm working on it. Of course, .it's probably a human thing as well

The thing about coming in sick is that sometimes it's not a choice, many bosses, especially in the United States don't give sick days, and they can actually FIRE you for calling in sick. It's ridiculous! The whole American obsession "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" is ridiculous.

The problem about the “saying sorry for everything”, is that a lot of people who suffer from trauma of being abused as a child tend to apologize for everything they do

"Skip the kiss and say hello" or at least take them out to dinner first

Speaking from personal experience, childhood trauma of constantly being criticized and screamed at has a bad habit of making you overly apologetic.

As someone who has autism (and was diagnosed just before starting kindergarten way back in the fall of 2006), apologizing for everything, and even the slightest things, is actually something that I, and many other people who are on the autism spectrum, can definitely relate to and have a tendency to do.

Over apologizing is a tough habit to break! Especially for women who’ve had it conditioned into us. “Thank you for your patience” has been very helpful to me personally in overcoming it. Great list of habits, and fun video! 👍

Bowing is actually my favourite habit, followed by holding the door for someone behind me.

Trust me, I don't like to be kissed on the cheek at all unless it's by my mother or someone that close. I usually just leave it at a handshake, fist bump or high five with my friends.

Some evil monster is watching this video and planning to meet Strider so they can do all of these things and laugh in his face as he looks on in horror and confusion

I never understood about showing up while being sick. In elementary school, the kids would be sent home right away if they showed any sign of illness

Being autistic, the worst "polite habit" is small talk. Neurotypical people say it's polite, but I'm not interested in all that chatter, especially when I'm trying to read a book!

id love to see this from the perspective from a neurodivergent. there's a lotta stuff that are considered "socially normal" but a lotta us NDs find strange. And honestly im glad some of these habits are being reexamined.

Hey strider, about the community poll.
You added a 4th option "arg! what a stupid question, go away!", this is probably the reason why so many people answered the way they did, people who respond to polls have a tendancy to responde to the middle option if they don't have strong opinions about it, so because the 4th option didn't really answer the question, it's likely that people like me responded to the middle option. It's always better to spread the answers so that the 2 middle options have a leniancy to possitive and negatives. For the question "do you like ice cream?", spreading the responses as "yes", "sometimes" and "no" will get you less accurate results than, say, "Yes" "Sometimes" "Not a lot" and "No".

In my case, I do not mind when people arrive early, but I would definitely prefer if they arrived on time.

i really like those animated segments in 6:56 and 5:12. it's super cool that you went through the effort of adding them in!

To tell you the truth Phantomstrider, being polite is not always easy. I mean whenever I'm in a bad mood or something, I try to be polite and not get too angry. But it's a little hard to control my temper and keep it cool. But I'm still a nice person overall. Also chivalry is definitely dead like some people say.😅

Now I can use this against my enemies and just say "hey I was just being polite!"
