I don’t get why Layla and everyone on her team are so weird when it comes to killing people, like you’re part of a group called the assassins but they all act like they are supposed to follow Batmans one rule or something even if its in self defense

I was playing Valhalla and was so lost, thinking I missed something despite doing every quest in base game AC: Odyssey. Now I understand wtf happened. It disappoints me immensely that such gigantic story beats were relegated to extra dlc. I support extra side stories and content in dlc, but stuff this big really belongs in the main game.

I think Layla screwed up big time. She failed to understand Aletheia's lessons, that both the Assassins and the Templars are two sides of the same coin and if left unchecked, any one of them would bring the world to ruin. The Assassins would bring anarchy and chaos, while the Templars would bring a machine-like, stifling order that would suffocate the world. What the world really needs, is balance, a mixture of both chaos and order in equal parts. Instead, she sided with the Assassins at the end, with chaos, choosing ideology over balance and failed as the Heir of Memories. I think this theory is confirmed by the fact that Aletheia disappears, abandoning her.

For anyone that doesn’t know the different afterlife type places you go to did exist as isu settlements but the one alexios is in is a simulation of the real thing made by aethlia or whatever her name is, using her memories and isu power

Aletheia made a simulation and edited it to make everything Greek-like to help Kassandra understand the worlds in the simulation. The Isu simulations are video games but this time the person is inside the game and the NPCs can talk independently without prewritten scripts or programs (actions). Nevertheless, Aletheia kept the appearance of the Isu (not clothing) intact. Everything Abstergo made came from the Isu (Vidic confirmed this in the first game). So the Animus is also based off of actual Isu simulations, not just research of genetic memory and how to look into them through various sequences.

Didn't know there was so much story about Those Who Came Before in ac odyssey dlc. I don't own the game and just thought the story stopped just when Laya got the staff. Didn't know it would continue in the dlc. Sooo cool, thank you for this
