Subsides by and large go to plant ag industries and those same industries are the ones carving up the rainforest to produce crops like soy and corn.

Cattle farmers get access to that land after it's been run through the wringer. It's very rare that they get 1st access to freshly cut down rainforest land and even rarer that the rainforest is being cut down to create pasture land.

When they cut the trees here in washington, even after 30 years there is nothing..no deer, not much of anything because all of the undergrowth was destroyed..yes its green but that's it!!
