"When you spoon your onion..." before you even finished your statement, my brain went, "wow, the forever romantic." 😂 Hello, my name is Tanya and I am silly. I love and appreciate all the garden wisdom that you share with us. I am so impressed at all the skills you have. Holy cannoli, the garden, stone work, you're building a house, video and editing.... I'm inspired. Great job, friend.

How many of us said "thatch!" (excitedly) before Brian pointed to the roof? 🙋‍♀️😄
Where do we get microclover seed?

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to plant a shrub or tree and then decide to remove it for something else. I offered my neighbor what I was removing and plant stuff in their yard (I live on a very small 50' x 150' plot) when I decide to do it.

Gary Pilarchik has a new video out about making a snail/slug trap with 2 terracotta pots, pretty interesting! Yeah, that garlic won't store well. At least you can preserve it! You can peal and chop it and put spoonfuls on a cookie sheet to freeze, then toss in a freezer ziplock. You may need to add a few drops of water before freezing to hold them together (unless you used a food processor, which will release some liquid.) Keeps the flavor really well. The thatch looks so nice.💕

👏👏👏👏👏 Well done, Brian!! That thatch roof looks fabulous!! I am glad you have moved past the intimidation that you have done it, you got this!! I don't know if I conveyed that I know that when you set out to do something you've never done, but you've seen it done, or have a general idea of how it's done, and you are confident you can do there is still that apprehension of intimidation until you actually push up your sleeves and dive in the first time. Now that you have crossed that threshold, the rest will move your confidence then you wonder why you waited so long to start!! Lol. That's how it works for me, anyway. You are doing great on look forward to seeing it finished. You are an will make it look good...I have seen your work!! 😉

I have a suggestion in the tropical garden area walkways. I’d keep them 3-4 feet wide. That way you can walk along with someone next to you.

I planted my tomato plants on Easter. They were growing fast and developing flower buds and then a deer came and ate two of them down to one limb with a few leaves left on it.

Love Blue Jays. Raised one with my parakeet. They were great friends and mischievous together

Your garden and cottage are so beautiful. I ring my onions here in the NC Piedmont. I learned from Deep South Homestead and Old Alabama Gardener. It makes a difference here for sure.

THATCH!!! It looks amazing! I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I can't wait to see the finished cottage with the garden in full bloom! It's wonderful seeing your vision taking shape.
Thanks also for the tour -- I learn so much and get so many ideas from your process and experiments. Your approach to gardening, including design and land management, resonates deeply with me, and no doubt inspires many others as well.

Maine here.. not planting out tomatoes and peppers until this coming weekend. Yesterday is was almost 90° but this week we have a few nights with lows to 40°! 🤦🏼‍♀️ it may not kill them, but it won’t be good for them. My seedlings are WAY past ready to go in the ground!

Hallelujah the thatch looks great and the wall and steps too. With your carrots have you tried sowing the seeds, watering them and then covering them with a plank of wood? It keeps the sow damp even on a hot day. As soon as a bit of green appears you can remove the plank. On the onions, I do ease the soil away from the bulbs as they grow as we have heavy clay soil. It does seem to help
