My friend straight piped his Jaguar XJ8...

My friend and fellow YouTube creator @be1441 recently gave into my pier pressure and bought himself a 2001 Jaguar XJ8, with a lovely 3.2 litre V8 under the hood. What's more, is that he's gone ahead and completely straight piped it from the manifold... and the result is ridiculous...

I was grinning all the way through the section from 12:15 where it’s just wide open. I wouldn’t normally have any interest in chopping an exhaust off but that sound is incredible!

The green key is the Valet key, it will not open the glove box or boot lid, there should be two black keys as well, lovely car.

I got the jag Xtype and the head lining is gone in that too. Some people say the xtype is just a mondeo tarted up but i disagree the roof lining thing deffo makes the xtype an authentic jag 👌

Hi i had a jaguar v8 3.2 the exhaust on mine was blowing a bit but I actually loved the verble of it.. I took it for mot and never got it it back sadly..
I would however love another Jaguar in the near future and being born and bred in Coventry 1964 to date.
Lots of toys on it the green key is valet key..

That key is the valet key so won't open the boot or operate the glovebox lid. Also, it looks from this video like the thermostat tower is leaking. Best to replace that asap, since they can basically explode. Coolant all over the place and these engines don't tolerate being cooked. For a relatively cheap and easy replacement, it's not worth ignoring.

Funnily enough I did a very similar thing to my Jaguar XF 4.2 V8 ... although my process is fully reversible . These Jag V8s sound great ... especially with straight pipes !!!

Put the old exhaust back on it and drill some 10mm holes in the airbox before the air filter. About 10 to 15 of them. Car will be a quiet cruiser. But when u put the foot down. Makes a lovely sound.

Just replacing the back boxes with straight through boxes gives a nice rumble and retains the looks. Just run it in sports mode all the time and use premium petrol and the old girl with not disappoint.

I had one very similar in my late 20s it was a XJSport 4.0 manual box which ive never seen before, it was a great drifter.
